Most times, the temperature level in a car is not parallel on both the driver and passenger sides. This is why the dual climate control system emerges to serve the driver and the passengers distinctly.
With the dual climate control, you get a separate regulatory button for the climate condition in the front row and the rear seat.
This article presents 6 small-sized SUVs that feature the dual-zone climate control system, including their respective prices.

Sub-compact SUVs With Dual Climate Control
Sub-compact SUVs are the smallest of all sport utility vehicles. They typically have a dimension of about 168” in length, 74” in width, and 67” in height.
The following are 4 sub-compact SUVs with dual climate control.
1. Jeep Renegade
The Jeep Renegade is one of the roomiest small SUVs on the market. It comes with a dimension of 167” in length, 74” wide, and 67” in height.
While this ride offers comfortable headroom, the rear legroom is a little tight.
To make the vehicle more comfortable, Jeep Renegade offers a four-way manually adjustable passenger seat with six-way adjustable options for the driver’s seat.
Moreover, many Renegade models offer dual-zone automatic climate control.
While the 2015 model year features dual climate control as an option, you’ll have it as a standard feature in the latest models.
This makes the Jeep Renegade one comfortable SUV to own, especially under unpleasant weather conditions.
For most Jeep Renegade models, the dual climate control interface is located at the front. The control knob for the driver’s side lies leftward while that of the passengers lies towards the right.
Using the climate control interface is quite simple:
- You can press the auto button to allow the climate sensor to regulate itself according to the climatic need of the cabin
- You’ll have to also press the sync button to allow this to function effectively
- You can as well adjust the temperature manually to suit your needs
- First, you have to turn off the auto feature
- Then turn the knob counterclockwise to set a cold temperature, or clockwise to activate a warmer temperature
- You can do this with each of the control knobs to set distinct temperature levels for the driver’s side and the passengers’
- That is why it is called dual climate control.
The price of the Jeep Renegade starts at $31,590 for the newly introduced 2023 model.
The 2022 version costs significantly lower at $26,290 for a starting price. This is not very different from the older 2017 version, with a starting price of $21,090.
2. Kia soul
The Kia Soul is one of the most affordable sub-compact SUVs out there today. It seems Kia takes a delight in their affordability tag and the 2023 Kia Soul still comes with a starting price of just $21,215.
You’ll most likely admire the 2020 model which has a starting price of $18,610 in spite of looking similar to the 2023 version.
Although this vehicle does not feature standard driver-assist features like most of its rivals, it comes equipped with dual climate control. You’ll enjoy this feature, at least, with the 2022 model.
Whereas the 2018 version introduces automatic climate control, 2022 features dual-zone climate control as a standard.
Mind you, this vehicle comes in four trims, but only the S, X-Line, and GT-Line models offer dual-zone automatic climate control as a standard feature.
Unlike the 2022 model, the 2023 Kia Soul offers advanced driver assist features as well as dual climate control.
Some of these features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and rear-cross-traffic alert.
Thus, while the 2023 Kia Soul offers a controlled comfort-inducing ride inside, it also has different digital eyes for safety outside. All these for a price range of $21,215 – $25,515, you’ll agree that Kia Soul is a remarkably affordable SUV.
3. Honda HR-V
Smallish but spacious is a suitable definition for Honda’s smallest crossover SUV.
With the new 2023 HR-V model growing a little in size (179.8” L, 104.5” W, and 63.4” H), this SUV now offers more legroom to the already roomy cabin. You would hardly expect more from a subcompact SUV.
It is quite unfortunate that while this new HR-V offers high-grade interior features and comfortable handling; it comes with a somewhat laggard acceleration.
This could be why it falls at #5 out of 24 subcompact SUVs rated by US News.
Nonetheless, the HR-V offers a premium cabin with comfort-enhancing features to accommodate both the driver and the passengers.
Do not forget, this vehicle only offers an automated climate control system as a standard feature. The dual-zone automatic climate control comes as an available feature.
Out of the three trims that the 2023 model has, you can only access the dual-zone automatic climate control in the EX-L. The LX trim only offers a single-zone climate control system.
Aside from the fully redesigned 2023 model, there are no notable changes in the other latest HR-Vs — the 2020 – 2022 models.
The MSRP for the 2023 Honda HR-V falls between $23,650 – $28,950 depending on the available trims.
4. Mazda CX-30
Sharing similar functions with the Mazda CX-3, the CX-30 comes with impressive technology and a boastful design.
Regardless of being a sub-compact SUV, it has a somewhat bulky exterior look while offering a near-premium cabin for its interior.
Debuted in 2019, the Mazda CX-30 has only three model years from 2020 – to date, and it has already caught the fancy of reviewers and critics.
Whereas the 2022 version is rated #3 out of 18 subcompact SUVs by Edmunds, US News has rated the 2023 edition #1 out of 24 subcompact SUVs.
The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is available in eight trims:
- 2.5 S, Select
- Carbon Edition
- 2.5 Turbo
- 2.5 Turbo Premium
- 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus
You can enjoy the dual-zone climate control from the Select trims upward.
Although Edmunds claims that “the dual-zone climate control is a little weak for those who like it really cold”, the provision of rear vents would make the vehicle more comfortable for the rear passengers.
That said, you can adjust the temperature using the separate knobs provided, and you can control the fan speed using the touchscreen interface.
You can as well turn on/off the climate control through the touchscreen display provided separately for it.
Check the prices of the Mazda CX-30 below:
